Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin Runs at 60 FPS/1080p, Changes Revealed

Six player co-op confirmed.

From Software’s Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin will be heading to PS4 and Xbox One in April but existing PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 users will be able to experience the update now. What exactly is in store for players?

It’s first worth noting that the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions will run in 1080p and 60 FPS according to a comparison done by IGN. The PlayStation Blog also noted that along with a bumped up resolution, there will be better lighting effects and cinematic filters giving the game a cleaner look overall. The increased frame rate also means more responsive combat and movement apparently.

In terms of gameplay, enemies and item locations have been changed. Enemies will also pursue players more, at times even through fog gates, and some weapons have been tweaked. That Fire Long Sword you coveted is now more durable and it will now be easier to find some weapons. There will also be six player co-op online.
