Days Gone Gets Free Major Update With New Difficulty, Character Skins, Challenges, And More

A trailer shows off what comes with the new update.

Days Gone launched to some fantastic sales and is, most likely, going to become a new franchise in Sony’s cap going forward. The game didn’t have any expansion or season pass, but it has gotten a pretty steady stream of updates since its initial launch, and now it seems one of the biggest yet is starting today.

You can see the trailer below detailing everything. It seems pretty extensive, with the Survival Difficulty leading the pack, a new difficulty mode that beefs up enemies while giving you more immersive HUD options. Later on we’ll see additions of new characters skins, cosmetics like patches and rings that have stat boosts, a horde mode, new bike skins, and a series of challenges over the course of 12 weeks. The update will go live today.

Days Gone is available now exclusively for PlayStation 4, with the update kicking off today with the Survival Difficulty. You can see our take on the game here, and if you’re wandering the wasteland for the game’s hordes, we got you covered.
