We had already reported on Capcom’s recent Investor Report which stated that Lost Planet 3 had shipped only 300,000 units (and that’s not even counting the number of copies sold). But the report also contained information on Capcom’s forecasted sales for Dead Rising 3, with 1.2 million units projected.
Interestingly, this falls below the projections for the original game (1.8 million units) and the multiplatform Dead Rising 2 (2.7 million units) according to Eurogamer. Since this is an Xbox One exclusive, it’s understandable. Of course, given the number of titles that failed to meet Capcom’s projections, this could be the publisher just being cautious. It will be interesting to see if Dead Rising 3 has generated enough interest to hit that number.
Dead Rising 3 launches on November 22nd for the Xbox One across 13 territories worldwide. Other launch titles for the platform include Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome and a slew of third party titles including Call of Duty: Ghosts.
