Dead Space 3 Demo Announced, Kinect Functionality Will React To Swearing

Will it work? That's the question.

EA has confirmed that they will be releasing a demo for Dead Space 3 on January 22nd for the PS3 and Xbox 360. If you are an Xbox 360 owner you can sign up at Deadspace.com to get the demo 1 week earlier, how cool is that!

The demo contains the single player level, co-op, and Kinect voice commands which is actually quite ingenious when you think about it. The game features Isaac Clarke and his co-op mate Sgt John Carver who have to reach planet Tau Volantis to put an end to the marker which has started the issue of Necromorphs.

It has also been revealed that the Kinect functionality in this game is quite unique and people will be able to swear at the screen and the camera will pick stuff up.

Check out this video from Dead Space 3.

“We actually have some commands that people will need to figure out,” Executive producer Steve Papoutsis told CVG. “But there are commands where you might be in a certain situation and you might yell a specific expletive and it might behave in a way that you want it to.”

“Being able to do certain things without changing the grip on your controller is really advantageous. Add in co-op and now you can do things with simple voice commands like give your partner ammo or items – things that would normally take a couple of extra clicks on the sticks.”

Sounds really interesting, and it remains to be seen if it actually works, because you know, we are talking about Kinect here. The game will be released in February for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
