Diane Kruger was recently attached to a string of rumours concerning her potential involvement in Hideo Kojima’s upcoming Death Stranding, and even though she recently confirmed that she’s not going to be part of the game, that hasn’t stopped her from delivering very high praise for the works of the Japanese mastermind.
“We met in Los Angeles,” Kruger said about Hideo Kojima while speaking on Maidigi TV. “My partner [Norman Reedus] is in this game, and [Kojima] just blew my mind. I was invited to, I guess, a wrap dinner, and he showed me his trailer, and I just went-” she then proceeded to exhibit a very visual reaction of her jaw dropping. “He’s legendary,” she finished.
She expressed similar thoughts in another interview on cinematoday.jp. “I had the luck to see his trailer for Death Stranding,” Kruger said, “I actually told him that he should direct a feature film. Because in his vision of video games, there’s so much attention and so much attention to detail, that basically, you’re watching a movie. His sensitivity towards performance is what sets him apart.”
“I’m not a big video game player myself, but I was completely blown away when I saw his trailer,” she continued. “It’s mind blowing. Visually, for sure, but what struck me the most is that it’s very difficult in five or ten minutes to create a world, and to have emotion come across, and just wanting more.” You can view both interviews in a video put together by YouTube channel PythonSelkanHD.
Death Stranding is currently without an official release date, but we expect it to launch some time in 2019 for the PS4. We will probably have more concrete details after this year’s E3. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more updates.
