Destiny 2 Forsaken Removes Year One Weapons, Year Two Weapon Vending Will Be Based On Random Rolls

Collect those Year One weapons while you still can.

Forsaken promises to be a major new update for Destiny 2, like The Taken King was for the first game, and as such, it’s going to bring with it some pretty major changes- that includes changes to weapons as well. In their latest weekly update, Bungie revealed that all Year One weapons and armour in the game will be discontinued when Forsaken rolls around.

Iron Banner, Vanguard, Crucible, and Trials of the Nine vendors will no longer be giving out Year One cosmetics and season rewards, while Year One weapons and armour at those vendors, as well as Gunsmith and Meditation vendors, will also be calling it quits. Additionally, emblems given out by Meditation, Gunsmith, and Cayde-6 will also be going out of circulation (that last particular bit makes sense, since- well, you know).

So yeah, if you want those Year One weapons and gear but don’t have that stuff yet, get it while you still can, because once Forsaken is out, that stuff is not going to be available anymore. Instead, Year Two weapons and armour sets are going to be introduced. Interestingly, vending of these new items is also going to be based on random rolls, which means weapons will come with different perks each time they’re handed out. Bungie also teased that fan-favourite weapons might be introduced, among which Better Devils also seems to be included.

Destiny 2- Forsaken launches on September 4 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. A Year Two combat reveal stream is also just a couple days away.
