Destiny 2: Solstice 2023 Returns Today, Bonfire Bash Changes Revealed

Players can earn a new set of Solstice armor and either reroll its stats or earn Kindling to upgrade them multiple times.

Along with the mid-season patch for Season of the Deep, Bungie’s Destiny 2 will see the return of Solstice today. Eva Levante returns with the European Aerial Zone, where players battle enemies and collect Silver Leaves. Players can also earn new Solstice armor sets.

There are some changes this year, with the Bonfire Bash’s enemy density and difficulty being tuned. There are two new buffs – Firebound, which increases Recovery and Super regeneration when near allies, and Flare (also available in Vanguard Ops). The latter causes fire to emerge in waves around the player when defeating enemies quickly.

While Solstice is live, you can earn Silver Leaves from various activities. These can be converted into Silver Ash, which rerolls armor stats. Completing Event Challenges provides Kindling, which upgrades an armor piece’s stat roll three times. The best part is that these upgrades are shared across all Solstice pieces in that slot, so you don’t have to repeat the grind if you find better gear.

Each armor piece can glow, with free and paid options available. If that weren’t enough, players can earn a Strand Rocket Launcher, the first of its kind. Stay tuned for more details on the event and mid-season patch notes when they go live.
