Destiny 2: The Final Shape’s Exotic Class Items Will Become Easier to Farm in Early August

Overthrow chests in The Pale Heart have an escalating chance of granting Exotic Class items, while regular chests are getting nerfed.

Following Destiny 2: The Final Shape’s release, Bungie added Exotic Class items via a new mission, Dual Destiny. While they brought some potent build-crafting options for certain Prismatic classes, obtaining the perfect roll can be difficult. Given the Exotic mission’s length, some players resorted to exploiting a chest farm in The Pale Heart.

In a new “This Week in Destiny,” Bungie confirmed that’s changing how the Exotic Class items drop from the patrol area. Overthrow chests now provide increased chances – the more open, the higher it goes (with higher-ranked chests providing the most benefits). That increased chance will also apply to The Pale Heart’s co-op missions and Lost Sectors.

Meanwhile, regular chests will have reduced chances of doling out Exotic class items. Dual Destiny will also provide an additional drop weekly per character. As for feedback about obtaining Exotic Class items in other areas, Bungie said it’s “aware” of the same and will “continue to monitor” following the above changes.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. Check out our review here and stay tuned for the changes next month.
