Destiny 2: The Witch Queen – Bungie Looking Into Low Drop Rates of Deepsight Weapons

The new Wellspring activity offers weapons with unique crafting patterns but players are reporting abysmal drop rates after hours of farming.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen released last week and has seen a very positive response in many aspects. However, one of the new mechanics tied to the six player activity Wellspring is causing some issues. How the activity works is that it provides a unique daily rotation – you can obtain one of four different rewards depending on which boss is defeated on which day.

However, there are also Deepsight Resonance versions of weapons which have unique patterns that are needed for crafting. According to players on Reddit, the Deepsight versions haven’t dropped even after hours of farming. It also doesn’t help that this is part of a quest to obtain the new Exotic Glaives.

Community manager dmg04 has responded on Twitter, stating that, “Team’s aware of reports where players are running multiple hours of the activity with minimal Deepsight drops. Once we have information to share, we’ll let you know.” It could be that drop rates are lower than intended due to a bug. Time will tell if it gets resolved (or if Bungie simply ups the drop rates overall).

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen is currently available for PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Google Stadia. Its campaign lead has been confirmed to be returning for Lightfall, the game’s next big expansion.
