Destiny 2’s next major DLC, Black Armory is out in the next few days. However, Trials of the Nine and Faction Rallies, two modes that had been present before Forsaken launched, won’t be returning. In Reddit thread, Bungie community manager Cozmo confirmed that Trials of the Nine would not be returning in the current reason, a.k.a. Season of the Forge.
“Trials is not part of our announcement today. It will not make its comeback during Season of the Forge. The team is still working on a plan to restore this experience in a way that lives up to your expectations. I’ll share more information with you as soon as we have it,” he said. In a separate comment on the same thread, Cozmo confirmed that Faction Rallies wasn’t returning in this season either.
How would players complete the Achievement/Trophy “Meet an emissary from beyond”, which requires playing Trials? Fortunately, it seems that the development team is working on another way to earn this when Black Armory releases. “We’re adding in a way to complete this achievement in next week’s patch,” said Cozmo. We’ll just have to stay tuned and see what’s in store.
Trials of the Nine and Faction Rallies were both suspended before Forsaken launched, due to waning popularity and complaints for both modes. Bungie hadn’t offered any updates on the same during the previous season aside from promising improvements. Destiny 2: Black Armory, meanwhile, is out on December 4th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
