Depending on your perspective, Destiny 2’s Xur may be in somewhat of a weird spot. The Exotic vendor doesn’t really offer anything but he’s still performing a valuable service for new players hopping into the game. Regardless, you can find him in Giants Scar on Io where he’ll be till the weekly reset.
This week, Xur is carrying Starfire Protocol (Warlock chest), Aeon Switch (Hunter gloves) and Eternal Warrior (Titan helm), each for 23 Legendary Shards. All of these Exotics are fine – Eternal Warrior provides an overshield when activating Fist of Havoc, Starfire Protocol offers two Fusion grenade charges, and so on. There are just better options all around like One-Eyed Mask and Phoenix Protocol to consider.
As for the Exotic weapon, it’s the Exotic trace rifle Coldheart. Costing 29 Legendary Shards, it’s fairly underwhelming compared to Prometheus Lens and Wavesplitter. But it does more damage the longer the beam stays on a target. So there’s that.
Destiny 2: Shadowkeep should shake up the Exotic economy when it’s out on September 17th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Head here for more details on how the Moon has changed.
