If you’ve been following Bungie’s attempts to balance the sandbox in Destiny 2, then things must look a little haphazard for the Crucible. The Revelry is causing an increased number of grenades to be thrown about, thanks to its special tonics. And even before this, the Hunter’s Spectral Blades Super has been on a tear thanks to its absurd duration (especially when paired with Gwisin Vest) and damage reduction.
Bungie has talked about adjusting the Super before, and now it has finally revealed its plans for the same. In its latest weekly update, it revealed that the Super’s damage reduction in stealth was being reduced from 62 percent to 54.4. percent. Damage reduction while out of stealth is also being reduced from 62 percent to 54.4 percent.
As for the duration of the Super, it’s being reduced to 14.5 seconds while out of stealth and not attacking. While in stealth and not attacking, it’s duration has gone down to 23.5 seconds. Light melee cost has also been increased by 50 percent, so if you’re actively killing opponents, expect the Super drain that much faster.
The developer isn’t changing how Gwisin Vest will interact with Spectral Blades- at least not yet. For now, it’s going with the current slate of changes to see how things pan out.
