Destiny 2’s Starter Pack Pulled from Sale After Pay-to-Win Complaints

The Destiny 2 Starter Pack has been the subject of quite a bit of criticism since it was launched earlier this week, with players calling it an attempt at introducing pay-to-win to the game.

Shortly after it released the Starter Pack for Destiny 2, Bungie has now pulled the pack from sale. The company made the decision to pull the Starter Pack from sale due to concerns raised by the Destiny 2 community, which accused the Starter Pack of being a pay-to-win bundle.

For context, the Starter Pack was priced at $15, and included an Exotic Ship, Sparrow and Ghost Shell on the cosmetics side, and three Exotic Weapons on the gameplay side—Traveler’s Chosen, Ruinous Effigy, and Sleeper Simulant. The pack also included 125,000 Glimmer, 50 Enhancement Cores, 5 Enhancement Prisms, and 1 Ascendant Shard.

The Starter Pack was released alongside the kick-off for Destiny 2‘s latest season of content, Season of the Wish. The new season brings with it new Exotic Strand bow, the Riven’s Lair activity, and new story missions. Bungie also recently announced that it will be delaying the release of Destiny 2: The Final Shape to June 4.
