Destiny: Nearly Six Percent Of Playstation Players Never Finished The First Mission

How does Bungie and Activision get those gamers to come back?

While Destiny is a game that countless players put a ton of time into, there are also apparently a large number of gamers who decided to try Destiny out, but decided it wasn’t for them before they finished the very first mission. Phil Spencer, who has apparently put more than 300 hours into the game would probably be appalled to know that Gamespresso has found that nearly six percent (5.8 percent to be exact) of Playstation players haven’t gotten the achievement known as Ship Rite. The only way you can get this achievement is if you complete the first mission in the game.

The truly surprising thing about this that there have been more than a few people who have said the first mission might be the most engaging in the game. The story missions are also considered fairly short. The first mission was made the way it was, to basically rope people in and get them playing the game. Only after finishing the first couple of missions, do people feel as though Destiny can get to be a bit repetitive.

Despite that, nearly six percent of players aren’t getting roped in at all. We don’t know the exact numbers for how many people have actually played the game on the PS4 or PS3, but Activision did claim that over all its platforms, there are about 16 million users. For the sake of argument, if you split that number in half when talking about how many of them of Playstation users, that means roughly 464,000 Playstation users didn’t bother finishing that first mission. The number gets even bigger if you want to assume the percentage of Xbox users are similar.
