After Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reported Diablo 4’s “friends-and-family” alpha, images and videos for the same have leaked (via Reddit). Though not much gameplay is showcased, the various character customization options are featured, primarily for the Barbarian class.
There are eight different face and body types; multiple different markings, jewellery, and makeup options; and various skin tone and hair color choices. At the “Finalize” screen are options for Seasons and Hardcore mode, though both are greyed out for the alpha. When starting the game, one can choose more guidance for their tutorials, which is ideal for new players, or less if they already know the ropes.
It’s also possible to start from World Tier 1 and 2 with the latter offering challenging enemies, better drops, and more XP and Gold. World Tier 1 is, once again, aimed at newer players and foes are easy to slay.
Diablo 4 will have a beta in the future, though Blizzard Entertainment is yet to provide details on when. It’s slated to release in 2023 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
