Diablo 4 had a riotously successful launch in June, earning over $666 million in revenue in its first five days to become the biggest opening for Blizzard Entertainment title in history, and not long afterward, it was confirmed that the game had quickly amassed over 10 million players. Of course, there’s certainly been some controversy and backlash against the action RPG since then, but it seems it’s continuing to attract players at a healthy rate.
Recently at Gamescom Opening Night Live, Blizzard unveiled Diablo 4’s second season of content, Season of Blood, which is due out in October. While on the stage to provide new details on what the season will bring, Diablo GM Rod Fergusson also revealed that the game has now hit 12 million players, which is an addition of another couple of million over the last month and a half or so. All players collectively have also logged over 1.3 billion hours of gameplay.
Diablo 4 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Read our review of the base game through here.
