After several prominent leaks, Blizzard officially announced Diablo 4 at BlizzCon, and it is, to put it mildly, A Big Deal™. As the next instalment in one of the biggest gaming properties out there, and with seven years having passed since the launch of Diablo 3, it goes without saying that this is a game people will be waiting for with keen anticipation.
As luck would have it though, we’re gonna be waiting for it for a while yet. Speaking at their BlizzCon 2019 panel, members of the game’s development team talked about all things Diablo 4, and among several other details to arise from that panel, we also learned that the action-RPG is not going to be coming out anytime soon.
“We are not coming out soon,” said game director Luis Barriga. “Not even ‘Blizzard soon.'”
Which, of course, means that it’s going to be a handful of years before the game finally launches- and I doubt Diablo Immortal will do much to keep us satisfied until it’s out. But hey, at least we know it’s coming.
There is some good news though- Blizzard have also confirmed that though Diablo 4 will have in-game trading between players, the controversial action house will not be making a return. Read more on that through here.
