2023’s release calendar is looking jam-packed right now, but even amongst a bevy of major new releases currently scheduled to launch next year, Diablo 4 has to be one of the most high profile upcoming releases. And while Blizzard Entertainment has yet to officially announce a specific release date for the action RPG, some details on that front seem to have emerged nonetheless.
XboxEra’s Nick Baker recently claimed in a podcast that Diablo 4 is set to launch in April 2023, which is something that Windows Central is corroborating in its own report. Blizzard Entertainment will allegedly announce the release date at The Game Awards in December, which will kick off a “media blitz” for the title in the lead-up to its launch.
The report claims that multiple premium digital and physical editions will also be revealed along with the launch announcement, while pre-orders will allegedly go live at the same time. Interestingly, it seems one of the game’s pre-order bonuses will be access to its open beta in February, well ahead of its full launch. Of course, Blizzard has previously confirmed that Diablo 4 will follow a seasonal post-launch model, and Windows Central’s report states that Season 1 is set to kick of several months after release, in Q3 2023.
Diablo 4 is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
