Divinity: Original Sin 2- Definitive Edition brings the fantastic RPG to consoles this year (while also being a free upgrade for everyone who bought the PC version last year), but there’s one way in which the console versions will categorically not be “definitive”- they won’t have mods for now, which the PC version obviously will.
In the past, mods for console games were out of the question; however, thanks to Bethesda’s efforts, they have become more normalized for PS4 and especially Xbox One this generation. And Divinity: Original Sin 2 may support mods on consoles in the future, as well. Speaking with DualShockers, Larian Studios product manager Kieron Kelly said that Larian has looked into getting mods for the console versions of the game, and that the possibility for that happening is still on the table- so, this is something that may well happen in the future, once the game has launched, and Larian has addressed whatever immediate problems that throws light on.
So that’s good. Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition launches for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on August 31. If you pre-order the game on PS4, you get early access to 20 hours’ worth of content. Meanwhile, head on over here to read about what upgrades the game will receive on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.
