DOOM Eternal Coming to Google Stadia

id Software's highly anticipated FPS will run at 4K resolution and 60 FPS on Google's platform.

During Google’s GDC 2019 gaming presentation, id Software’s Marty Stratton announced that DOOM Eternal would be coming to Google Stadia. The game will be capable of running at 4K resolution and 60 frames per second with HDR support. Though it will only run on a single Stadia GPU, the service is capable of scaling up to multiple GPUs.

Considering DOOM’s reputation for fast and furious action, having DOOM Eternal as a benchmark for the kind of responsiveness that consumers can expect from Stadia is pretty significant. Currently, there’s no release date for DOOM Eternal, but we will learn more about it at Bethesda’s E3 2019 presentation. More information about the game running on Stadia will be coming from GDC.

Google Stadia doesn’t currently have a release date or price point. It will offer a dedicated controller (the Stadia Controller) for play, though it will support multiple devices. Full cross-platform play is also being promised. Stay tuned for more details from the conference as it rolls on.
