Dragon Age: The Veilguard received impressive new gameplay against a Blighted Dragon during State of Play, with a Mage Rook on the battlefield. But what build was BioWare using, and how optimal is the DPS? Fortunately, a separate deep dive video detailing everything from the gear to the Specialization.
Since Corius the Icetalon (the aforementioned dragon) is weak to fire damage, the build goes for passives that build upon that. Elemental Catalyst is ideal since it grants 15 percent bonus damage based on the damage type of the Mage’s staff and Orb weapons. The Spellblade Specialization also carries a passive that causes Shock to apply alongside Burn and vice versa.
It makes Thunderous End, the Ultimate, that much more valuable. However, thanks to mana sustain, Rook can call down Meteor as much as they’d like for maximum fire damage.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard launches on October 31st for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Head here for even more Mage gameplay.
