Dragon Age: The Veilguard Features Combat Difficulty Settings, Including Customizable Parry Windows

When selecting a Specialization for your character, you can customize the finer details to make some mechanics less challenging.

Along with outlining the character creator, Eurogamer’s preview of Dragon Age: The Veilguard also revealed a Playstyle category. This is after choosing your Specialization, with the Rogue getting Duelist, Saboteur or Veil Ranger.

After that, you can customize the difficulty of that playstyle. If you like playing as a Duelist after watching the recent extended gameplay reveal but are worried about parry windows, you can customize it. It’s confirmed that the character creator will include a slider for body type, with shoulder width and glute volume settings.

There are even lighting options to check how your character looks in different settings. As game director Corinne Busche says, “Nothing worse than spending hours fine-tuning your character, you get into that first cutscene, and you go ‘oh my god, it looks so sterile in this lighting!’ No worries about that.”

Dragon Age: The Veilguard launches Fall 2024 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Head here to learn more about the combat, companions and hub (known as The Lighthouse). While you can romance any companion, they could get with each other if you don’t show interest. Find out more about that here.
