In a rather odd twist of sorts, Bandai Namco’s Dragon Ball: Xenoverse has proven to be the most popular iteration in the series till date. It’s shipped 1.5 million copies worldwide and has been dubbed the “biggest Dragon Ball game ever” by its publisher.
Though a fighting game like its predecessors, Dragon Ball: Xenoverse features an original plot taking place within the established canon. Whether this has been the case for its success or not is unknown – it could also be a matter of this being the first current gen Dragon Ball Z game and thus warranting lots of attention.
Fans can look forward to the first DLC for Xenoverse today which comes with three new characters (Kid Goku GT, Trunks GT and Pan), Planet Tuffle as a new stage, nine new Z-Souls, five new costumes, 15 new Special moves, Tien and Yamcha as new Masters and new Time Patrol and Parallel quests.
