Square Enix’s Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age has seen shipments and digital sales hit 4 million copies worldwide. This is after having the biggest launch in the series’ history for the United States in September. Square Enix announced that this included the game’s original launch on PS4 and Nintendo 3DS in 2017 for Japan.
According to Media Create, the Nintendo 3DS version notched up an impressive 1,741,582 units in retail sales (as of October 2017). The PS4 version hit an equally impressive 1,347,582 units sold at retail as of September 2017. Couple this with the RPG’s impressive performance in the West, and Square Enix could be motivated to localize future Dragon Quest games.
Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of An Elusive Age is currently available for PS4 and PC via Steam in North America and Europe.
