Dying Light 2’s development has been a turbulent and bumpy affair. Since its announcement back in 2018, the game has been delayed more than few times and its development has been through some rough times as well. Earlier this year, Techland finally nailed down a concrete release date for Dying Light 2 Staying Human, confirming that it would launch on December 7. Now, however, the game has been delayed again.
Techland recently took to Twitter to confirm another delay for Dying Light 2, pushing it past its December launch by just under two months. The game is not due out in early February, with Techland saying it needed the additional development time to “polish and optimize” the game.
“We are sorry to keep you all waiting a little longer, but we want the game to meet your highest expectations on release and we don’t want to compromise on this,” writes Techland CEO Paweł Marchewka.
That said, you can still expect more updates and new on the game in the near future. Techland confirms that in October, press and content creators will get the chance to go hands-on with Dying Light 2’s PC and console versions, which means you can expect more new details and gameplay footage.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human launches on February 4, 2022 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
