Very rarely do games enjoy the sort of rapturous and universal critical acclaim that Elden Ring enjoyed when it launched earlier this year, and it’s no surprise that the open world action RPG has seen commercial success to match as well.
As part of its recent quarterly fiscal report (via Gamebiz.jp), publisher Bandai Namco provided updated sales figures for the FromSoftware-developed title, confirming that its worldwide sales have now hit 16.6 million units. That’s up from the 13.4 million units it had sold as of March 31, which also means the game sold another 3.2 million units in the quarter ending June 30.
Recently, the NPD Group also reported that including its sales in the United States in June, Elden Ring has become among the top 10 best-selling games in the US of all time. Read more on that through here.
In our review of Elden Ring, we awarded it a score of 9/10, calling it “an exceptional achievement in open world design.” Read the full review through here.
Elden Ring is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
