“Epic Games Let us Make the Game We Wanted” – Alan Wake 2 Developer

"Never have I read so much good feedback from milestones and have producers play so much of the game constantly," says Remedy's Thomas Puha.

Alan Wake 2 has joined the shockingly long list of incredible games that have released in 2023, with Remedy Entertainment’s long-awaited survival horror sequel having launched to widespread praise from critics and audiences alike, and the developer has shared praise for its publishing partner, Epic Games, and the role it played in the game’s development.

Taking to social media platform X, Remedy Entertainment’s communications director Thomas Puha shared a message about Epic Games’ role in Alan Wake 2’s production, saying the company was “nothing but supportive” and allowed Remedy to have the freedom to bring its vision to life.

“They let us make the game we wanted. Nothing but supportive,” Puha wrote. “Epic’s production team especially KILLED it on Alan Wake 2. They really care. Never have I read so much good feedback from milestones and have producers play so much of the game constantly.”

In our review of the game, we awarded it a score of 9/10, saying, “Alan Wake 2 is a fantastic horror game with some excellent atmosphere and an incredibly interesting story. While it does make use of jump scares that feel downright unnecessary, thankfully, the other horror aspects of the game are more than up to the task of creeping you out.” Read the full review through here.

Alan Wake 2 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It will also be receiving two expansions next year- read more on that through here.
