Evil West Delayed to November 22nd

Flying Wild Hog and Focus Entertainment feel that more polish is crucial and called this a "necessary step" to ensure "the best experience for everyone."

Focus Entertainment’s Evil West is the latest title to face a delay this season, though it’s not too far off. Instead of September 20th, the third-person action game will release on November 22nd for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC.

In a recent tweet, developer Flying Wild Hog and the publisher explained the delay. “Giving our game more polish is crucial to provide our players with not only good but also lasting memories. That’s something we’ve always pursued.” Though it understood the frustration behind game delays, it noted this to be a “necessary step” to deliver the “best experience to everyone.”

Evil West is set in the Weird Wild West where cowboys and the supernatural collide. As vampire hunter Jesse, players are hunting a “dark menace.” Along with firearms, players can batter foes with melee combat thanks to a gauntlet. Smaller enemies can be knocked into the air and suspended with rapid shooting or sent into nearby objects. Though primarily a single-player experience, co-op with another player is also supported.

More gameplay footage is likely coming in the next few weeks, so stay tuned. In the meantime, check out over 10 minutes of combat and exploration here.
