Fallout 4 Will Not Be Locked To 1080p/30FPS on PC

No duh?

Yesterday, Bethesda announced that Fallout 4 would hit 1080p and 30FPS on all platforms that it was releasing on. Perhaps it was meant to allay fears about the minimum spec that they were targeting, or surreptitiously assure Xbox One owners that their version of the game would not be visually compromised next to the PS4 version. It doesn’t matter. What does matter is that right after the statement was made, a lot of people misconstrued it as Bethesda confirming that the PC version of the game would also be locked to 1080p and 30FPS.

The ultimate proof of Bethesda’s console induced casualization in recent years, and their absolute shunning of their PC heritage and audience! How could they do something like this? Why would they deliberately hold back the PC version of the game, because of weak hardware like the Xbox One?

Well calm yourselves, people. Bethesda have clarified that the PC version of the game will, naturally, be unlocked, and can achieve framerates and resolutions far higher than the base spec. “Fallout 4 is 1080p & 30fps on Xbox One and PS4. Resolution and FPS are not limited in any way on the PC,” they said.

There, are you happy now?
