Fallout 76 Players Can’t Die in PvP If They Are Less Than Level 5

Todd Howard explains how Bethesda plans to prevent griefing in Fallout 76.

Are you worried that, as a newbie playing Fallout 76 for the first time, you might find yourself griefed by higher level players, who might start taking advantage of their better stats and loot and just killing you relentlessly with no provocation? Bethesda apparently knows that this is a possibility, too, and they are taking steps to ensure that it does not happen.

Speaking during an interview with Multiplayer.it (via PlayStation Trophies), Bethesda Game Studios’ Todd Howard confirmed that players lower than Level 5 can’t be killed in Fallout 76, precisely to prevent something like that from happening. So if you’re worried you’ll exit Vault 76, and suddenly be sniped by campers, don’t be- it literally can’t happen because of how the game is.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether Bethesda’s whole checks and balances implemented into the game can prevent the whole game from devolving into a griefing trainwreck that so many other multiplayer games turn into. Fallout 76 launches for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 14 this year.
