Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Leaked Thanks to uPlay Exploit

Russian hackers have found a way to download advance copies of the game.

Ubisoft must be shaking their heads over this one. It seems that the upcoming Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, a downloadable title that will be arriving for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, has been leaked because Russian hackers found a way to trick uPlay into recognizing authorization for games that aren’t already owned.

Unfortunately, this includes Blood Dragon as well as the hackers have found a way to download advances copies of the game. The game is in a fully playable state and Ubisoft is yet to patch uPlay to avoid this exploit. The real kicker is that users can play it offline, bypassing the need for any DRM whatsoever.

On one hand, we don’t condone this kind of piracy at all and believe Ubisoft is justified in banning any accounts found using the game. On another completely different hand, how bizarre is it that Blood Dragon which hasn’t been properly revealed yet has already been leaked? Totally bizarre.
