Far Cry 4 Development Started “Immediately After Far Cry 3”, Competitive Multiplayer Details Revealed

Multiplayer missions to be set in "all new environment outside of Far Cry 4's world".

Far Cry 4 creative director Alex Hutchinson has revealed some new details on upcoming first person shooter which follows in the foot-steps of the third game while taking place in the fictional Himalayan region of Kyrat.

Speaking to Red Bull, Hutchinson said, “Work started almost immediately after Far Cry 3, and I joined a while after that. The idea is always to build on the best and most successful elements from the previous game and integrate new features and ideas to make sure it’s fresh and that the game takes a significant step forward. For me, the most important things are enabling more player agency, building better tools and adding co-op so people can create more interesting player stories, and trying to make a seamless experience.”

Ubisoft Montreal is working on the single-player campaign while Red Storm Entertainment is working on competitive multiplayer, consisting of “a series of missions set in an all-new environment outside of the [Far Cry 4] game world.” More information will be shared on these “shortly”.

Far Cry 4 release on November 18th for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PC.
