Ubisoft Montreal’s Far Cry will be releasing in the next two weeks and the developer has seen fit to reveal the minimum and recommended system requirements for PC users.
Common requirements include Windows 7 SP1 and upwards with only 64-bit versions of Windows 8/8.1 being supported. You’ll also need DirectX 11 and 30 GB of available hard disk space to install the game.
As for the minimum requirements, one will require an Intel Core i5-750 clocked at 2.6 GHz or an AMD Phenom II X4 955 running at 3.2 GHz along with 4 GB of RAM. At least 1 GB of VRAM will be required from your GPU but you’ll need either a Geforce GTX 460 or an AMD Radeon HD5850 to run the game.
Recommended requirements are fairly higher with users needing an Intel Core i5-2400S clocked at 2.5 GHz or an AMD FX-8350 clocked at 4.0 GHz or better to run the game along with 8 GB of RAM. The graphics card seems to be the most important component as you’ll require either an Nvidia Geforce GTX 680 or an AMD Radeon R9 290X or better with 2 GB of VRAM to run the game.
Far Cry 4 is out on November 18th for North America and November 20th for Europe. What are your thoughts on the system requirements? Let us know in the comments.
