Far Cry 4 Reviews: A Resounding Critical Success For Ubisoft

It seems to be doing pretty well.

Ubisoft may be under fire from all sides for how badly they have mishandled and bungled the launch of their highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Unity, but that’s not the only game they have launching this holiday season, after all- there’s also Far Cry 4, and the review embargo for the game is finally lifted. And, as expected, the game is pretty damn awesome. Reviewers seem to be fans of everything that Far Cry 4 has to offer, with the most common criticism being that it is only offering more of the same that Far Cry 3 already offered two years ago. Then again, considering how awesome Far Cry 3 was, you won’t find us complaining.

General critical reception seems to extremely positive- at the time of this posting, neither IGN nor Gamespot have yet posted their reviews, perhaps wisely deciding to take some more time with the game’s multiplayer, but other outlets have let us know what they think of the latest in the series of globe trotting first person action games- Eurogamer gave the game an 8/10, Destructoid gave the game a 9/10, Joystiq gave the game four and a half out of five stars, and Videogamer gave the game an 8/10. Overall, the game currently sits at a healthy Metascore of 87.

Far Cry 4 launches November 18 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and PC.
