Far Cry 4 Takes “Anywhere Between 15 to 60 Hours to Complete”

Narrative director Mark Thompson weighs in with his estimates.

Game length is always a dicey subject, especially when it comes to single-player games that emphasize as much on the story as they do on the number of side-quests left over. For a game like Far Cry 4, it’s not unreasonable to expect the game to last more than 20 hours overall. Though director Alex Hutchinson indicated that it would take 35 hours “for everything”, narrative director Mark Thompson thinks differently.

Speaking to IGN, Thompson said, “We know the game can take people anywhere between 15 and 60 hours to complete.”

It could be that Hutchinson’s estimate was simply for everything in the single-player campaign. It would also be that Thompson’s numbers reflect your average first person shooter fan rather than a skilled player. Regardless, Far Cry 4 seems to be a fairly big game if you try to complete everything.

Far Cry 4 will be out this November for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PC. Let us know what you think of the length in the comments.
