Far Cry 6 – Ubisoft Warns Of Fake Emails Promising Early Access

Another attempt from hackers using an anticipated game.

Far Cry 6 was announced last year, and was originally planned to have been released already with February 2021 date. That was not to be, however, as the game was delayed into the 2022 fiscal year, some time between April to September of this year. There’s been largely silence since that point, but now we’ve heard something about the game. Unfortunately, it’s not something good.

As detailed by DSOGaming, Ubisoft has sent out statements warning about fake emails. The emails are invitations to take place in an Early Access period for the game. Ubisoft is clear in saying that there is no early access planned for the game as of yet, and are investigating, with a suggestion to ignore any emails, saying, “Some of our media and content creators are being sent fake emails using the Ubisoft domain inviting you to take part in early access for Far Cry 6. Please ignore such emails. Our security teams are investigating.”

It seems to be a phishing attempt, something that is very similar to what happened recently with Capcom and their upcoming Resident Evil Village release. So if you see any emails about Far Cry 6, it’s best to avoid them for now.

Far Cry 6 is set to release for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC and Stadia. As of now, no release date is known.
