Ubisoft recently teased that it would reveal a new Far Cry title at The Game Awards 2018. Judging by the apocalyptic nature of the teaser, many of us assumed that it would try to outdo the Fallout series. However, it may be slightly closer to a RAGE-like wasteland instead. Cover art has recently leaked (thanks to ResetEra), and we now know the game’s name – Far Cry: New Dawn.
Details are scarce, but some speculate that the two women on the cover art could be the antagonists (if you go by the series’ tradition of cover art). A few key locations, like the silo in the background, look similar to those in Far Cry 5, so it’s highly likely that the same map will be utilized. Which isn’t bad thing – it worked for Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, after all.
Far Cry: New Dawn will support “Xbox One X Enhanced” features, but it’s pretty much a given that this is coming to PS4 and PC as well. Perhaps we’re looking at a Q1 2019 release? We’re intrigued by the premise, if nothing else – all that’s left is to see the game in action. Stay tuned for The Game Awards – the event starts at 5:30 PM PT today.
