The FIFA 14 juggernaut rolls on, gathering more clubs and players for its roster on the way to its release this September. Today, EA Sports announced that it has secured licenses for 19 Brazilian football clubs, including Atlético Mineiro, Atlético Paranaense, Botafogo, Coritiba, Criciúma, Cruzeiro, Flamengo, Fluminense, Goiás, Grêmio, Internacional, Náutico, Palmeiras, Ponte Preta, Portuguesa, Santos, São Paulo, Vasco da Gama, and Vitória. This brings the total number of clubs to well over 600 for a staggering 16,000 players and 30 leagues.
Executive producer for the FIFA franchise David Rutter stated that, “We’re very excited to bring the stars of the top Brazilian clubs into our games. For all our fans that support and love Brazilian football, this will only add to the authentic FIFA experience they enjoy, and the additional clubs will bring undiscovered players from Brazil into the FIFA Ultimate Team universe.”
If that weren’t enough, EA will be announcing more leagues and club licenses in the coming months. FIFA 14 is set to release on September 24th in North America and on September 27th worldwide for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, with releases for Xbox One and PS4 due later this year.
