FIFA 14 Features Better AI, Animation and 1080p on Xbox One and PS4

David Rutter talks about capturing "every nuance" of possible collisions.

EA Sports’ David Rutter has revealed to Eurogamer that the next-generation versions for FIFA 14, releasing on Xbox One and PS4, will feature improved AI, support for 1080p and “roughly ten times the animation” of the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.

“We wanted to improve the behaviours of the players and the AI. A lot of that is around physics and decision making and the way they move, and we’ve got roughly four times the processing of decisions.

“The feature’s called Pro Instincts, and it’s based around the processing power of the new consoles allowing us to have players almost predict the future. The player on the pitch is running along and a tackle comes in ahead of him. Currently two things happen – he either hits the leg or he doesn’t hit the leg. This new generation of consoles we have every nuance of possible collision, and trying to position himself not to collide.”

FIFA 14 launches for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, Wii U, PC and many other platforms on September 24th in North America and September 26th in Europe. It will also be launching with the PS4 and Xbox One when they release in November.
