During EA Play Live 2020, Electronic Arts showcased its upcoming yearly sequels for Madden NFL and FIFA. While we know that Madden NFL 21 is out in August, FIFA 21’s release date has only just been revealed. It’s out on October 9th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. A Steam release has also been confirmed.
Both games will also be available on PS5 and Xbox Series and over on EA’s official site, the publisher outlines how next-gen technology will be used in these versions. Support for the DualSense on PS5 is confirmed, as it provides haptic feedback to make you feel the different kicks and passes. Load times will be “blazing fast” and a deferred lighting system will be used to enhance realism.
Players will also have “deeper definition” in their physiques with dynamic lighting accentuating different aspects of models. There’s also spatialized audio which should provide a more immersive experience. More gameplay footage for the next-gen versions will likely be revealed in the coming months so stay tuned.
