FIFA 22 Cross-Play Test Coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Stadia

Starting in the "near future," players across the specified platforms can compete in Online Friendlies and Online Seasons Divisions.

Electronic Arts has announced plans to implement cross-platform play for FIFA 22 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Google Stadia. In new FAQ, it revealed that the option would allow for playing against players on other platforms in Online Seasons Divisions and Online Friendlies. The test is slated to begin in the “near future” but EA will inform players when it’s live in-game and via Twitter.

The test will be limited to the above two modes in order to reduce “the chance for introducing new issues into the game.” Once it goes live, players can select a widget in the bottom right-hand corner of the game and enable cross-play from there. It will also be possible to block and/or mute players along with searching for friends.

Cross-playing with friends requires adding them to your friends list in-game. If your friend also has cross-play enabled, then there will be an indicator revealing their platform (which is also displayed when playing against randoms in Online Seasons). Stay tuned for more details when the test goes live.
