Final Fantasy 16 Will Feature 4K/30 FPS and 1440p/60 FPS Modes

Producer Naoki Yoshida has revealed details on what players can look forward to from the RPG's Quality and Performance modes.

As one of the biggest upcoming games of 2023, it’s no surprise that Final Fantasy 16 has generated stratospheric levels of hype and excitement, and as we get closer to its release in June, Square Enix is looking to keep that momentum going. At its recent PAX East panel, the game revealed new trailer showing off its world and exploration gameplay, while also showcasing new details on its combat, Eikon battles, and more.

Meanwhile, as part of the panel, producer Naoki Yoshida also revealed specific details on what players can expect from the game’s previously confirmed Quality and Performance graphics modes. When playing with Quality mode enabled, Final Fantasy 16 will run at 4K and 30 FPS, while on Performance mode, it will run at 1440p and 30 FPS, which is roughly what one would have expected from both modes at any rate. Whether Square Enix has plans for additional graphics modes that will be added to the game down the line remains to be seen.

Final Fantasy 16 is due out for PS5 on June 22, with a demo expected to launch roughly two weeks before release. Square Enix also wants to bring the game to PC, but it won’t be anytime soon after its PS5 launch.
