Square Enix brought tons of new Final Fantasy 16 details and gameplay to PAX East 2023. Along with a new trailer highlighting the world of Valisthea, it also showcased new story footage and combat, including some more Eikonic Abilities. Check it out below at the 11:15 and 24:40 timestamps.

Along with Garuda, Titan and Ifrit, Clive uses abilities from Bahamut, Phoenix and more. Odin’s Zantetsuken is out in full force, unleashing an array of slashes similar to Vergil from Devil May Cry 5. It can be comboed with Bahamut’s Megaflare, which sends several energy projectiles into the air that rain down on an enemy as Clive continues the assault.

It’s pretty extensive, and the sheer amount of combo potential is insane. Final Fantasy 16 is out on June 22nd for PS5, but a demo will go live about two weeks prior, allowing fans to try the combat first-hand. Progress transfers over into the game as well. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
