Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 16 has received lots of new gameplay following a press event. While various publications went hands-on with a demo, the development team also detailed the upcoming RPG.
As reported by Gematsu, producer Naoki Yoshida confirmed that it’s on track to release in June, and he doesn’t foresee “any delays,” unless something like “a meteor hitting our headquarters in Japan” happens. The demo played by the press, which takes place five hours into the story, wasn’t fully optimized and is different from the full game.
He also confirmed Performance and Frame Rate Modes, with the former emphasizing the title’s 4K visuals. Frame Rate mode will prioritize the frame rate, so it’s likely to be 60 FPS at the cost of a higher resolution.
Final Fantasy 16 launches on June 22nd for PS5. Though rumored for PC, Yoshida has confirmed it will launch only for PS5 (but never say never). Head here for more details on the different characters and Eikon powers.
