Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is the Fourth Best-Selling Game of 2024 in the US

Throughout the long history of Final Fantasy releases, it ranks 14th in lifetime dollar sales. Final Fantasy 7 Remake is ranked second.

Circana’s March 2024 data on video game spending in the United States is available, with Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Helldivers 2 scoring big. In the midst of all this is Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the long-awaited second part in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy, which is the fourth best-selling title in the US year to date.

This is despite following to seventh place in March after debuting in second place for February. Analyst and executive director Matt Piscatella also revealed that among all the Final Fantasy releases in history, it ranked 14th in lifetime dollar sales. Final Fantasy 15 remains on top, followed by Final Fantasy 7 Remake and the original Final Fantasy 7.

Despite strong sales and extensive critical acclaim, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth garnered some concern with reports that it sold roughly half of its predecessor in the same time frame. Square Enix hasn’t provided official sales numbers yet. Its untitled sequel is in the works, with the team looking to start voice recordings soon and ideally wrap up development in three years.
