If Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth featuring vast amounts of side content and new cities not in the original game isn’t enough, there are also several mini-games to engage in. These include new collectible card game, Queen’s Blood, and piano playing. Speaking to Game Informer, director Naoki Hamaguchi offered some new details on the two.
While he didn’t outline how Queen’s Blood works, Hamaguchi confirmed that you’ll be able to challenge different NPCs throughout the region, each providing “varying degrees” of challenge. Regarding the piano rhythm mini-game, players utilize the DualSense’s analog sticks to hit different notes and can switch keys and octaves with other buttons.
You’ll collect different sheet music to play, but there’s also free play, where you can play compositions without following any prompts. Hamaguchi showcased a video where a developer played a “popular Japanese song” in free play, and it’s described as a “sight to behold.” The idea is to encourage players to play their favorite songs and share those performances online.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth launches on February 29th for PS5. Check out the latest trailer here.
