Final Fantasy 7 Remake – Retail Copies Shipping Early for Europe, Australia

Copies for North America will be shipped within this week and arrive by April 10th.

After warning of retail shortages for the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Square Enix has provided an update. It revealed that Europe and Australia would see their physical copies shipped earlier, even if it means providing access to the game earlier than the rest of the world. Other regions like North America will have their copies shipped within this week and should be received by April 10th.

The publisher has asked fans to avoid spoilers for those who won’t be playing it earlier (though retail copies have been floating around in the wild). As it stands, even if you’re worried about retail shortage, digital copies are unaffected and will release on April 10th worldwide as planned. The whole reason behind retail shortage fears is the recent COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake will be coming to PS4 exclusively next week. It will remain a timed exclusive until April 2021. If you haven’t already, it’s worth checking out the demo currently available on the PlayStation Store. You can also learn more about the game’s development by watching Episode 1 and Episode 2 of the “Inside Final Fantasy 7 Remake” series.
