We have been getting a lot of looks at the supporting cast for Nintendo’s upcoming strategy RPG, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, lately. So far this has focused mostly on the supporting allies to the House leaders: the shifty, the cynical, and the kind-hearted. Now we have something a little different, as we get a look at one of the teachers at the academy, Hanneman, and along with him a new part of the game’s world that sounds like it could be a big part of the story.
You can see Hanneman’s introduction below. He’s a calm and collected older gentleman (possibly why he doesn’t tend to get along with his more hot-headed colleague, Manduela), but he loses that cool when he comes across Crests. Crests are key items that are held by a select group of people and are thought to be blessed by the Goddess. It’s a rare item that is largely held by nobles and royalty, though even some prominent families don’t have one.
The main protagonist has a mysterious Crest that doesn’t have a clear ancestry. It fascinates Hanneman, and there looks to be some foreshadowing that it will be a big part in the game’s story (thanks to Twinfinite for translations).
Fire Emblem: Three Houses will release on Nintendo Switch for July 26th.
