Fortnite Competitive Play To Be Spiced Up With Creation-Based World Cup

The Fortnite World Cup Creative will reward the most creative builders with a $3,000,000 cash prize.

Being probably the biggest game in the world, Fortnite has large share share of the e-sports pie, and it seems Epic Games is spicing up the competitive scene around the game with something a little different- the World Cup Creative.

Epic will hold the Fortnite World Cup Finals this July, and as part of that they will add the new Creative Cup that will see the winner take home an incredible $3 million prize. Per Epic, they will have five showcase events running from April 29th to June 7th. Every day in that timeframe, you can submit your creations using the event-specific hashtag on YouTube (#fortniteworldcup). “Special Fortnite captains” will select the top submissions, and selected winners will be headed to New York to partake in the Fortnite World Cup Creative Finals. You can tune into the various Fortnite social channels to keep up with all the details.

It’s obviously out of the ordinary for something to happen like this in the e-sports sphere, but with the recent release of the Creative Mode, Epic seems intent to push that in hopes of continuing the game’s already impressive longevity. Fortnite is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, PC, and mobile.
