Despite several competitors in the battle royale genre, Epic Games’ Fortnite is still going strong. Developer Epic Games announced in a new tweet that it has over 350 million registered players. In April 2020, players notched up over 3.2 billion hours in-game.
While this doesn’t give an accurate representation of daily or monthly active users, the engagement is still simply incredible. After the success of the recent Astronomical event with Travis Scott, Epic Games will have the Party Royale Premiere on May 8th. Taking place at 9 PM EST, it will have players attending performances by Steve Aoki, deadmau5 and Dillon Francis.
Party Royale is a new playlist that Fortnite will receive where players simply hang out together without any combat or building. Among the stage shows, there will be obstacles courses, boat races and new items to play with like the Paint Launcher. We’ll see how successful this pseudo-social space is when Party Royale goes live tomorrow.
